Undernote helps users capture highlights, screenshots, and personal notes while browsing. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how users can contact us regarding privacy questions.

1. Information we collect

Undernote may collect and process the following categories of information:

• Account information such as email address, password hash, and account metadata.
• User content created in the product, including blocks, highlights, notes, selected text, and screenshots attached by the user.
• Technical and operational information needed to authenticate sessions, secure the service, and support billing status.
• Subscription and billing status information related to Stripe, such as customer ID, subscription ID, plan status, and billing timestamps.

2. How we use information

• To provide the core functionality of the product.
• To save, organize, edit, and export user highlights and notes.
• To authenticate users and keep accounts secure.
• To manage subscription access, billing state, and plan eligibility.
• To provide support, troubleshoot issues, and improve product reliability.

3. Screenshots and saved content

Screenshots, notes, selected text, and related highlight content are created by the user and stored in connection with the user’s account so the service can function as intended. This content is not sold to third parties.

4. Payments

Payments and subscription management are handled by Stripe. Undernote does not store raw card numbers. Stripe may process payment information according to its own policies and terms.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell user data. We may share limited information with infrastructure and payment providers only as necessary to operate the service, such as hosting, database, and billing providers.

6. Data retention

We retain account data and user-created content for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Users may contact us to request deletion of their account data, subject to applicable legal and operational requirements.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information. However, no system can guarantee absolute security.
